Energia Sierra Juarez taps into one of the strongest wind resources on the west coast to generate a new supply of clean energy. The company expects to commence construction in 2013 and complete construction of the first phase in by 2015, subject to our meeting certain financing conditions and obtaining regulatory approvals.
The project's 47 wind turbines will be located about 70 miles east of San Diego and just south of the U.S.-Mexico border. The wind power project will connect to the existing Southwest Powerlink at SDG&E's proposed ECO Substation in eastern San Diego County via a new cross-border transmission line.
